Google calls its ad publishing network "Google AdSense." You can partner with Google as a publisher of their ads, but as a caveat, you must have a website.

There are different options for accomplishing this, so lets start from the simplest and move on up the complexity scale. Here are the 5 ways that you can acquire a website to partner with Google and earn a check:

  1. Create a blog on Blogger. Blogger is Google's blogging platform. As a member, you can create a niche blog, in whatever niche you want and opt to show AdSense ads on your site. Look for the option that says "Monetize" read and agree to the terms, and apply to become a publisher. Once you're approved you're set as an AdSense publisher. I should mention that once you're approved for an AdSense account, you can publish AdSense ads on any site. I won't go into much more detail than that, but really there's not much more than what I just said. In my opinion, this is the easiest way to become an AdSense publisher.
  2. Create a Squidoo lens. Don't know what Squidoo is? Squidoo is a site that lets you publish a website, that they call a "lens." The beauty of Squidoo, is that there's no AdSense application process like there is with blogger, just sign up and go. There is a bit of a learning curve to figuring out how to build a good lens, what topics to write about etc. but all in all, publishing a lens is an easy way to partner with Google.
  3. A self hosted WordPress site. At this level, you need to have a hosting account that lets you install WordPress, and then have a WordPress installation. This method takes more study than the previous steps in that you need to understand how to post to the blog, add and update files on the blog and several other admin functions that are handled for you in the previous methods.
  4. Hard coded AdSense site. This is the most complex of the single site options since it requires you to manually code your website in either Dreamweaver, Front Page, NVU, Notepad or some other HTML editor. This is not for the timid. You'll still need to have a hosting account plus whatever other functionality you need for your coded site to work.
  5. A mini-network. This entails combining all or some of the above options to create a small network of sites that feed each other traffic. This is the most complicated method since it involves all of the previous methods in order to work properly. I advise you stay away from mini-nets because of their complexity, unless you have someone dedicated to running it for you.

I suggest starting off at the first or second stage and then moving up the scale as you get more comfortable with the network and start to see some clicks coming in. It takes time and patience to start making regular money with AdSense.
